Deb Bolner-Prost has announced her candidacy for the San Antonio River Authority, which is charged with the development and management of the rivers, tributaries, and watersheds in Bexar, Wilson, Karnes and Goliad Counties. She is running for one of the two at large positions to represent Bexar County.
Deb has deep ties to the San Antonio community and a generational love of the San Antonio River. She is a descendant of one of the original 16 families from the Canary Islands that founded San Antonio along the banks of the San Antonio River. In 1956, her family founded and still operates an iconic San Antonio based business, Bolner's Fiesta Spices.
She is a successful and award winning entrepreneur, with a long record of civic leadership in the community, including serving as the president of the San Antonio Library Foundation and on the boards of the the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, University of Incarnate Word Advisory Board, and many more. She currently serves on the San Antonio River Foundation and Los Compadres de Missions.
Deb’s passion to serve on the San Antonio River Authority is based on three core objectives:
1. Protect the quality of San Antonio's water for future generations.
2. Support flood mitigation projects that protect lives and property.
3. Ensure that the taxpayer dollars that fund the San Antonio River Authority are used wisely and efficiently.
